It's Mental Health Awareness Week - Are you aware of how what you eat can affect your mental health?

Updated: Aug 11, 2021

DO YOU EAT ANY OF THESE 11 FOODS & DO YOU FEEL THE BENEFITS? I KNOW I DO!

As it's Mental Health Awareness Week here's a treatment method you may not have considered to improve your mood!

Probiotics are good bacteria that are essential to our health and provide many powerful benefits for our body and brain. These can include reduced depression as well as improved digestive and heart health and even healthier skin!

Follow the link for 11 Super Healthy Probiotic Foods you can easily include into your and your families diet.

But, keep in mind that the processed foods, sweets/cakes etc, carbonated sugar and sweetener drinks, processed meats and fats etc will feed your 'bad' bacteria, this, in turn, can diminish the ability of your digestive enzymes to cope with certain foods, even healthy ones which means that you can become intolerant to foods that some people find healthy and beneficial. By improving our microbiome diversity we can improve our digestive health and occasionally still eat treats and still feel OK, it's all about getting the balance right to avoid the bloat, discomfort and lows that microbiome imbalance can create.

This is definitely an area that I think we should all become more educated in and Healthline is a good website to start with, the article is evidence-based and lists 11 amazing foods to try! Let me know in the comments if you are already eating any of these and how they help you? Do you make your own sauerkraut and do you like it?

Keep smiling and moving, Sam x
